Our Services & Techniques
When you walk into Family Chiropractic, you can rest assured that your spine health is in good hands. Our centre provides a whole range of treatment modules for pain relief, preventive and maintenance care as well as wellness care.
Chiropractic adjustment or spinal manipulations is carried out by trained and licensed chiropractors using their hand or an instrument to correct structural alignment, improve body function and promotes self-healing. It’s a non-invasive and drug-free technique that relieves pain and help patients achieve optimal health and total well-being in the long run.
Active Release Therapy
Active Release therapy is a manual therapy that targets to treat soft tissue injury. These injuries are caused by adhesions or tissue scaring in the muscles which makes the muscles become weaker, shorter, and rigid and the nerves to compress. These adhesions alter the motion of muscles and joints; symptoms like pain, weakness, numbness, and tingling sensation and reduced range of motion. The specialist uses his hands to assess the texture, tightness and mobility of the soft tissue while the patient actively move or stretch the infected area. With hand pressure, the specialist treats the soft injury tissue by breaking the adhesions. This therapy treats problems with muscle, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves, thus treating headache, back pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sciatica to name a few.
Trigger Point Therapy
The tight area within muscle tissue that is causing pain in other parts of the body is called trigger point. For the reason that it “triggers” a painful response is why this is called as such. The pain could range from sharp, intense or dull ache. Trigger point therapy, using an isolated finger pressure, will deactivate the trigger points and lessen the pain.
SOT Blocks Therapy
Sacro Occipital Technique aims to balance our structure and stabilize our pelvis in order to allow the normal function of our nervous system since it’s the one controlling our body. SOT, which most practitioners are chiropractors, is believed to enhance balance, neurological integrity and integrated function of the organ structure and neurological mechanism. Having said that, specialist makes all of these happen through functional chiropractic neurology and biomechanics, nutrition, soft tissue techniques and the diagnosis and treatment of the craniosacral respiratory mechanism (CSRM).
Traction Therapy for the Neck and Low Back Spine
Manual and mechanical are the two main forms of spinal traction. The first uses bare hands to administer manual force on muscles and joints in order to widen the space between vertebrae by positioning the patients into a state of traction. The latter makes use of pulleys, ropes, and slings to decompress vertebrae and disc and relieve muscle spasms. This procedures are said to relieve back pains in the process.
Sports Injury Taping Techniques
This technique is used for joint injury prevention which athletes most commonly experiences in the ankle and hand. Using an adhesive tape, it lessens the severity of the injury to the ligament, lowers your chances of being injured again, and gives the most support while limiting backward bending.
Pediatric and Geriatric hiropractic
Geriatic chiropractic is both effective and easily tolerated treatment for seniors. It offers modified adjustments and therapies for arthritis, posture, stiff joints, injury from fall, neck and back pain, that will suit your body type and age. Likewise, pediatric chiropractic is also suggested to children of all ages. More and more study have shown great results with children with acute and chronic conditions who seeks chiropractic as alternative treatment. Chiropractors can detect such conditions early on, treat using gentle adjustments, and prevent any serious illness from materializing and getting worsts.
VibraCussor® percussive therapy is an exciting new treatment approach for muscle and ligament problems and related myofascial conditions.VibraCussor® therapy is very effective for releasing muscles. The VibraCussor® compression waves promote an increase in circulation and lymphatic flow and a decrease in muscle spasm. The VibraCussor® can be used to ‘warm-up’ muscles and set proper tonus prior to athletic events. The VibraCussor® instrument can also be used following an event, or exercising, to ‘flush’ muscles and minimize soreness. The repetitive pumping action of the VibraCussor® is ideal for releasing joints. The power of multiple percussive waves accumulates to loosen up ‘stuck’ areas without using heavy thrusting forces. Additionally, these waves heighten neurological awareness of specific areas of the body and facilitate energetic normalization.
